Fear vs Faith

Recently I listened to a talk by Justin Michael Williams whom I’d never heard of but really resonated with. He said that Fear and Faith are the same thing: both require you to believe in something that you can’t see and that hasn’t happened yet. He was talking in the context of choosing meditation over worrying, of which the former will create faith whilst the latter will create fear within.

My take on this is that we have the ability to choose our state of being through consciously choosing where to direct our thoughts and actions. So my invitation is to choose faith over fear:

❤️ Faith that despite the atrocities happening in the world, there is still goodness in humanity.
❤️ Faith that even when hatred is expressed by others, we can choose to have love in our hearts and share it in our lives.
❤️ Faith that even when there is darkness reported in the news, we can choose to be the light for our loved ones.
❤️ Faith that even when there is anger and judgement in society, we can choose to extend compassion and empathy.
❤️ Faith that despite war outside, we can choose to find peace within and bring peace to those around us.
