Being with our emotions is like swimming in the ocean. Sitting with the pleasant ones is akin to floating on the surface of the sea, where the water has no weight and we can frolic and have fun, bathed in sunlight as it bounces off the ripples and warms our skin.
But if we’re brave enough to dive deep, deep down, down into the murky darkness, where all the sunken ships of our past traumas are buried, and we can withstand the heaviness and denseness of the water, that’s where the greatest treasures can be found, ready to be unearthed.
And if we have the strength, courage and determination to bring them up to the surface and clean them up, we will be handsomely rewarded with abundant and expansive richness of life, free to live and love courageously, liberated from past pains and burdens.
