Abundant Love

The world may seem harsh and cruel at times, but we don’t have to be. We can soften our hearts and open our minds to love. When we tear down the walls that surround our hearts to protect them from pain, we remove the limits to our heart’s capacity to feel, hold and know love and to radiate that out.

We can’t make others love us no matter how hard we try. The magic of life comes in loving ourselves and sharing that out to others, allowing that love to be received where it’s divinely meant to be, not just simply where we want it to, for at times these don’t align. But when we trust the universe, we know that everything happens for our highest good and for our highest growth. And so we surrender to the wisdom of life knowing that it has a bigger plan for us and we flow with what comes and what goes, knowing that our hearts can never break when love is redacted or unreciprocated, it simply expands to hold more light.

When we learn to tap into the divine love within us and we practice embodying that love, we tap into a wellspring of abundance and love flows from us effortlessly with a force that needs no persuasion. Here, the giving of love to others becomes easy because we have it in abundance for ourselves and we know that that love will still be there, always and ever-present within our hearts, even when the love from another is not. If we allow it, love radiates from us, through us and as us, as naturally as a river flowing to the sea, as the tides ebb and flow, as the Earth orbits the Sun, because it is our essential nature.

Like the air we breathe, love is abundant, and just as air doesn’t run out simply because we’re all breathing, love doesn’t run out when we are all sharing it. The giving and receiving of love is the breathing of the cosmos.

We are a microcosm of the macrocosm and the macrocosm is love and thus it is our nature to be love. We just have to do the work to clear away our conditioned patterns and behaviours from our past that no longer serve us to return to this state of love.

It takes time, it takes effort and ultimately it takes a commitment to ourselves to be our own greatest love, and when we start from this place, life becomes an inside-out experience rather than an outside-in one, allowing us to love bravely and fiercely without fear of loss or hurt.

When we choose ourselves and continue to choose ourselves each and every time, no matter our circumstances, we choose life and all of the wonderment and love, in all its glorious forms, it has to offer in return. To love life is to live through love, starting with love for ourselves and then offering the overflow to the world.
