Shine Your Light

Yesterday, I posted a video on my social media showing my moves (link below for anyone interested and hasn’t seen it).

What most won’t know is that even just a few months ago, it wouldn’t have even occurred to me to make the video, let alone actually do so.

This is because up until recently, I held a belief about myself that I shouldn’t show off my abilities as it is arrogant to do so. On the back of all my inner work, I questioned this and knew that it was simply a limiting belief I’d picked up earlier in life, allowing me to transcend this limitation.

Whilst I wholeheartedly agree that humility is a virtue and should be respected, if it prevents us from doing something that is of value and service for others, then there is a balance to be struck in whether or not we rigidly stick to it.

My message about not letting our biological age define us would not have had the same impact had I not been able to demonstrate this myself. It would have been like a 20-year-old trying to sell face cream.

When ‘showing off’ our abilities comes from an intention to serve a higher purpose, it should be embraced rather than avoided, for our words and messages have the power to do good in the world if we choose them wisely.

For anyone who has an empowering message to share but feels uncomfortable expressing their gifts due to conditioned limitations, give yourself permission to shine brightly, so that we can all benefit from your uniqueness and all contribute to the highest good together.
