We are never ALONE, we are ALL ONE

I just read an article (link below) on the power of hugs, suggesting that, ”We need 4 hugs a day for survival. We need 8 hugs a day for maintenance. We need 12 hugs a day for growth.”

As a singleton who works from home, whose boys are away with their dad and whose friends are on half-term with their families, I realised that I’ve had minimal physical contact with another human being (two hugs in total) for the past four days and it made me wonder whether this was why I felt a little low this morning, despite being deeply aware of my connectedness to all of life and my daily heart-coherence meditation practice.

This brought to mind a self-care practice involving hugging oneself I once learnt, so I got to it. The power of the imagination should never be underestimated and simply closing my eyes and imagining myself being surrounded and hugged by my boys and loved ones whilst physically hugging myself for a short period was sufficient to noticeably lift my mood.

In this short practice, I allowed the self-generated oxytocin and serotonin to nourish my body and the universal loving energy to nurture my soul. No stimulants or external factors were needed, everything we need is already within us because of our energetic connectedness to all things and all of life.

And I found sanctuary in my knowing that even when we are physically on our own, we are never ALONE, because we are ALL ONE.

Sending energetic hugs and love to anyone who is currently in need of it.
