Love Letter #5

Another light-hearted musing…

I didn’t meet you until I was 20, but in an instant, I was smitten. It was, as they say, love at first sight.

Or rather, love at first bite as the case was, as you opened my world up to a delectable dance of culinary adventures. Each week, a new country’s cuisine to experience and novel flavours to delight my palate, transporting my taste buds to new territories.

During the three decades that followed, I have explored your many corners, ventured into the many crevices of your being, discovering new parts of you that have evoked wonder and delight, drinking in the deliciousness of your essence.

And you’ve lovingly allowed me into you with open arms, embracing my presence with fierce yet tender welcoming acceptance.

I have traversed the many bridges that crisscross your expansive body, trodden the many intricate roads that line your limbs, and marvelled at glorious landscapes and sunsets through the windows of your soul.

And in all this time, I have never gotten bored or tired of your vivacious company, for you have perpetually continued to grow, to adapt and to evolve, keeping me enraptured by your brilliance and radiance.

In my years I have been on many explorations, travelled to many cities in numerous countries, meeting countless people of varied races and backgrounds.

Yet my love has neither wavered nor waned, my adventurous heart has never succumbed to temptation from others, nor has it ever found home in another, as it has here with you, my dearest London town.

May your light shine forever bright and may my love for you never dim, wherever I end up.
